Veterans Aid Network (VAN) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded on January 1, 2025, dedicated to supporting veterans and their families by connecting them with vetted nonprofit organizations, assisting with benefits applications, and providing emergency financial aid for low-income veterans. We are seeking passionate volunteers and board members to help grow our organization.
Volunteer Roles
Event Planning Volunteer
Overview: Support the planning and execution of VAN’s benefit concert and other fundraising events to ensure a seamless experience for attendees and maximum impact for fundraising goals.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate with venues, vendors (e.g., sound, lighting, catering), and performers to secure contracts and manage logistics.
- Assist with ticket sales, including setting up online platforms (e.g., Eventbrite) and managing on-site ticketing.
- Organize event-day logistics, such as volunteer assignments, signage, and attendee check-in.
- Support post-event activities, including cleanup and thank-you communications to vendors and attendees.
- Collaborate with marketing volunteers to promote events through social media and community outreach.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Experience in event planning or coordination preferred but not required.

Marketing Volunteer
Overview: Create and distribute compelling marketing content to raise awareness of VAN’s mission, promote the benefit concert, and engage supporters nationwide.
Responsibilities:
- Design social media posts, flyers, and email campaigns using tools like Canva or Adobe Express.
- Manage VAN’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, X) by posting regular updates and engaging with followers.
- Write and edit content for newsletters, press releases, and website updates.
- Coordinate with media outlets (e.g., radio, news stations) to promote VAN’s events and mission.
